Plant Description

It is herbaceous, perennial plant up to 20-50 cm tall.

Stem is erect and branched.

It has a dark green leaves vary in shape. Those at the base (basal leaves) are rounded and stalked (obovate and petiolated), while leaves higher on the stem (cauline leaves) are progressively narrower, elongated, and stalkless (alternate and sessile, increasingly narrower and lanceolate).

The flowers are lilac.

Tiny, dry fruits with pappus (hair-like bristles) develop after flowering, aiding wind dispersal.
