Usages

Medicine- A decoction of the leaves is used in the treatment of diarrhoea and dysentery. Fuelwood - Wood is moderately hard and used as a fuel. Eco-restoration - Plants are fairly fast growing and have an extensive root system, they are useful as pioneer species for restocking bare hillsides and preventing soil erosion on the slopes.

Plant Description

Perennia deciduous shrub 3-4 m tall.

Woody, upright, and branched stems that form a shrubby structure.

Lance-shaped, often with a grayish-green color.

Dense panicles of small, fragrant flowers in various colors (purple, pink, white).

Small, inconspicous, capsule- like fruits.
