Other usesinclude insect repellent, blood purifier, skin fungi, snakeand scorpion bite antidote, inducement of abortions,and recovery from childbirth.

Plant Description

It is epiphytic orchid small to medium-sized.

Stem is short, with pseudobulbs. Pseudobulbs ovoid, 1-2 cm long.

Leaves are single, leathery from each pseudobulb, oblong to elliptic, 5-15 cm long, 2-5 cm wide.

Flowers are inverted or upside-down, solitary or in small clusters, brownish-purple with darker veins. Flower size about 2-3 cm across.

Fruit is capsule, containing numerous tiny seeds.
