Medicine- It is used traditionally to treat skin disorders including relief of itching, dry skin from proriasis. It is used medicinally to treat sinus infections in Nepal.

Plant Description

It is prostrate (lying flat on the ground) herb growing 10-20 cm tall.

Stem is slender and hairless.

Leaves are alternate, 1-1.5 cm long by 0.8 cm wide, obovate (egg-shaped with wider end at the tip) with blunt tips, wedge-shaped at the base, and toothed margins.

Flowers are greenish-yellow flower heads, borne singly and stalkless in the leaf axils.Two types of florets, female florets (outer rows): Minute, tubular flowers with 4 yellow teeth. Bisexual florets (inner few): Bell-shaped with 4 yellow lobes and 4 stamens.

Fruit is brown achene (dry, single-seeded fruit), obovate with 4 angles, and fringed with hairs.
