Plant Description

It is herbaceous perennial growing 30-100 cm tall with branching stems. Forms a clump or can be spreading.

Stem is hairy, upright with branching in the upper part.

Leaves are opposite, lanceolate to pinnate with finely divided lobes, 3-8 cm long and green on both sides, with some hairiness.

Flowers are bright yellow flower heads, 2-5 cm in diameter, borne singly on long stalks. Ray florets are numerous, with golden yellow petals. Disc florets in the center are also yellow.

Fruit is achene (dry, single-seeded fruit) with a pappus (hair-like structure) that aids wind dispersal. Achene are dark brown.
