Plant Description

It is erect perennial herb growing up to 100 cm tall.

Stem is round, sturdy at the base, becoming slender towards the top, branching upwards.

Leaves are broadly ovate measuring 5.5-10 cm in length and 4-7 cm in width, with pointed tips and toothed edges. Leaves are heart-shaped or rounded at the base, sparsely hairy on the upper surface and finely gland-dotted on the lower surface. Leaf stalks are up to 6 cm long on lower leaves, shorter on upper leaves.

Flowers are small, changing color from cream to pink and then purple. Flowers are about 0.3-0.4 cm long with a slender, straight tube of 2.5-3.5 cm. Flower clusters are borne laterally and at the ends of stems on short stalks.

Fruit is small, smooth, pale brown nutlet.
