Plant Description

Evergreen perennial forming a clump of long pleated leaves.

Stems usually erect, 12--30 cm, tomentose, apex slightly pendent.

Broadly sword-shaped with a pleated appearance. Deep green on the upper surface with a fuzzy, pale beige hair covering on the underside.

Borne in a large, compact head that resembles a small pineapple. Individual flowers are yellow, with three narrow petals and three sepals.
