Usages

Habitat

Thrives in sunny locations in wet environments, in shallow water at pond edges, marshes, and streams. Can tolerate being submerged up to 60 cm deep.

Plant Description

It is herbaceous perennial with a clumping growth form. Produces a single upright stem with radiating leaves at the top.

Stem is single, hollow, smooth, and round with a green to brown color, reaches 60-180 cm in height.

Leaves are numerous, thin, thread-like radiating outwards from the top of the stem, resembling an umbrella canopy. Bright green, reaching 30-60 cm in length.

Flowers are insignificant, small, greenish-brown flower clusters appear at the tips of the radiating leaves during summer.

Fruit is tiny, brown achene develop after flowering.
