Plant Description

Broadly sword-shaped with a pleated appearance. Deep green on the upper surface with a fuzzy, pale beige hair covering on the underside.

Borne in a large, compact head that resembles a small pineapple. Individual flowers are white, with three narrow petals and three sepals, often marked with yellow and violet markings in the center. Bloom time: Typically flowers in bloom bursts that seem to occur at 2-week intervals, hence the common name fortnight lily, from spring to fall and sometimes well into winter in mild climates.
