Thrives in seasonally dry tropical biome. They tolerate the low light conditions and are very drought tolerant.
It is in clusters or stands spreading through an underground or sometimes above-ground creeping rhizome. Upright growth pattern with stiff sword-shaped leaves emerging from a basal rosette.
True stem absent. Growth originates from a creeping rhizome that spreads underground or occasionally above ground. This rhizome plays a vital role in propagation and forming dense stands.
Leaves are stiff, upright, and sword-shaped, emerging from the base in a rosette form. Mature leaves can reach 70-90 cm in length and 5-6 cm in width. They are typically dark green with light gray-green horizontal bands across the surface.
Flowers are infrequent, usually only in mature specimens, greenish-white and appear on tall spikes about 45 cm during the spring season.
