Plant Description

It is perennial herb often short-lived forms low-growing mats or clumps.

Stem is erect to sprawling, 10-100 cm long. Woody base (caudex). Sometimes simple, but can root at nodes (adventitious roots) and branch. Sparsely hairy to hairless (strigose to glabrate).

Leaves are elliptic to obovate-shaped, 1-4 cm long and 0.5-1.3 cm wide. Usually similar size along the stem, with entire margins or 1-2 pairs of small teeth or lobes near the tip. Sparsely hairy on the surface. Small tufts of leaves may arise where larger leaves meet the stem (axils).

Flowers are Daisy-like flower heads, usually 1-5 together, borne on branches in the upper half of the stem. Ray florets: 45-80 white ray florets, that may turn slightly pink with age. Disc florets: Yellow disc florets in the center. Involucre: The green ring of bracts surrounding the flower head.

Fruit is dry, single-seeded.
