Plant Description

It is small prostrate shrub spreading horizontally along the ground forming dense mats.

Stem is brown, bristly, much-branched and spreading up to 30 cm, densely covered with leaves.

Leaves are oppositely arranged, small, ovate-round, measuring 1-1.8 cm across. Upper surface is hairless, while the lower surface and margins are covered with bristly brown hairs.

Flowers are tiny, spherical, about 0.4 cm in diameter, solitary in leaf axils. Color varies from reddish to nearly white. Sepals are broadly ovate.

Fruit is black, succulent berries about 0.6 cm in diameter.
