Plant Description

Perennial shrubs reaching upto 2-4m.

Woody, cylindrical, and monopodial (single main stem with lateral branches).

Simple, alternate, with three lobes (trilobate) and coarsely toothed margins. Leaves are light to medium green with a smooth upper surface and slightly hairy underside.

trumpet-shaped, with five petals in various solid colors (white, red, purple, mauve, violet, blue) or bicolors (different throat color). Flowers bloom on new growth.

Irregularly shaped, dry capsules containing numerous small, black seeds.


Phenology

Flowering: July-September.
