Plant Description

It is deciduous shrub or a small tree growing up to 300 cm high.

Stem is pale bark and several branches arise from the main stem.

Leaves are oppositely arranged, ovate, obtusely acuminate leaves are 10-20 cm long. Leaf stalks are very short.

Flowers are borne in clusters resembling corymbs, measuring 5-15 cm in diameter, at the tips of its branches. These beautiful blooms boast five white petals, each 2-3 cm long, that gracefully mature to a creamy yellow hue. The oblong, rounded shape of the petals is remind of frangipani flowers.

Fruit is borne in long, slender follicle (fruit capsule) that grow in pairs. This fruit can reach impressive lengths of up to 30 cm and are typically around 1 cm thick. Inside the follicle are numerous linear-oblong seeds. These seeds are approximately 1 cm long and have a smooth, hairless surface (glabrous).
