It is stout-stemmed tree-dwelling shrub with long drooping branches typically 100-300 cm in length.

Stem is densely covered with fine hairs in their young stage, as are the leaf stalks and inflorescence branches. Stem diameter ranges from 0.5-2 cm.

Leaves are elongate-rhomboid to ovate-lance-shaped, measuring 1.5- 6 cm in length and 0.6-1.5 cm in width. Thick, leathery, and dark green on the upper side, paler below. Leaf stalk is 0.1-0.5 cm long.

Flowers are borne in clusters of 6-10 flowers at branch ends or in leaf axils. Flowers are hairless outside, with a velvety texture inside. Flower tube is approximately 0.3 cm long, with triangular petals measuring about 0.3 cm wide and 0.5 cm long. Staminal coronal scales are shorter, rounded, and white or crimson, about 0.25 cm long and wide.

Fruit is long and slender pod, 8-15 cm in length and 0.3 cm in diameter. Surface is smooth, hairless, and finely striped.
