Medicne- The seed is anthelmintic, antifungal, antispasmodic, antitumor, diuretic and laxative. It is used in the treatment of oedema, and constipation.

Thrives in warm, sunny locations, in thickets on mountain slopes, waysides, fields, hedges, at an elevation of 0-1600 m.
It is annual or short-lived perennial vine. Twines around support structures or creeps along the ground reaches length of 200-500 cm.
Stem is slender, somewhat angular.
Leaves are broadly ovate or nearly circular, measuring 4-15 cm long and 4.5-14 cm wide, heart-shaped base. Margins are either entire (smooth) or have 3 lobes.
Flowers are funnel-shaped, individually measuring 5-6 cm across. Petals range from pale to bright blue with a whitish tube, fading to pinkish as they age. Flowers appear in clusters of 1-few flowers at leaf axils.
Fruit is ovoid to slightly flattened spherical capsule, contain 3-6 seeds.
