Usages

Ornamental - A very ornamental plant. Food - Bulb are cooked and eaten. Rich in starch, it can be used as a vegetable in similar ways to potatoes.

Plant Description

Eract herb growing 60-100cm tall.

Erect or slightly arching, round, and smooth.

Lance-shaped, arranged in a scattered pattern along the stem. Deep green.

Hermaphroditic (having both male and female organs) and can be unscented or have an unpleasant odor. Funnel-shaped, with six downward-facing tepals (modified petals). Colors can vary, ranging from greenish-white or greenish-yellow to pale yellow with a maroon or reddish-purple throat.
