Plant Description

It is small evergreen tree, reach up to 3-4.5 m tall.

As it ages, its bark turns a dark grayish-brown color.

Leaf is lustrous and dark green with brown hairs on the underside. These brown hairs also densely cover the green twigs, giving them a brown appearance.

It produces fragrant, magnolia-like flowers that are light yellow with maroon edges, measuring up to 4cm in diameter.

Fruit is a reddish-brown, aggregate follicle, resembling a small, elongated cone. It contains several kidney-shaped seeds embedded in a fleshy, red pulp.
