Usages

Ornamental- It is often grown as an ornamental. Food- Leaves, flowers and root are all consumed but in moderation as it contain oxalic acid and it can bind up the body's supply of calcium leading to nutritional deficiency.

Plant Description

Perennial herb

Underground bulbils clustered in scales.

Trifoliate (three leaflets), leaflets large, inverted heart-shaped, leaf stalk up to a foot long.

Pink, borne in umbels, flower stalks velvety, sepals lance-shaped and velvety, petals hinged at base.
