Plant Description

It is tall evergreen coniferous tree reaching up to 35 m in height.

Stem is up to 100 cm in diameter, with gray, fissured bark.

Leaves are needle like, 5 per bundle, triangular in shape, 8-15 cm long and 0.1-0.15 cm wide.

Separate male and female cones. Male cones are slender, while female cones are longer and produce seeds.

Seed cones, 3-4 cm long, containing winged seeds.


Phenology

Pollination: April-May Seed maturity: September-October.
