Plant Description

Annual succulent.

Cylindrical, smooth, succulent, and glabrous (hairless). Stems and branches are usually purplish green.

Thick and fleshy, sessile (without stalks), alternate or clustered, cylindrical or semi-cylindrical, about 2 cm (0.8 inches) long with pointed tips.

Large, showy, and come in various colors like red, orange, pink, white, and yellow. They resemble roses and can be up to 4 cm in diameter. Flowers only open in bright sunlight and close at night or in overcast conditions.
