Plant Description

Deciduous shrub growing up to 10 meters tall.

Straight or slightly curved prickles with a broad base on the stems.

Light- or greyish-green leaves with 5 to 7 ovate leaflets with small teeth.

Single, white, 5 cm flowers in clusters, blooming on new growth from late spring until late autumn in warm climates, or from late summer onwards in cool-summer climates.

Small, ovate fruits called hips, turning orange-red in autumn.
