Plant Description

Compact, rounded, deciduous shrub, grows up to 60-90 cm tall and wide.

Rounded with zig-zagged, terete or slightly angled reddish-brown stems.

Leaves are dark green about 5 cm long, pinnately veined, mostly elliptic or oblong-elliptic, rounded to cuneate at the base, sometimes obovate with a narrow base, obtuse at the apex, and crenately toothed or double-toothed in the upper part or throughout. Glabrous on both sides or downy beneath.

Flowers white or rose, densely arranged in flat or slightly convex corymbs, either downy or glabrous. Petals much shorter than the stamens.

Fruit is a small, dry follicle, typically reddish-brown when mature. They are arranged in clusters and contain several tiny seeds within each follicle.
