It is creeping and sprawling perennial forming a dense groundcover or trailing in containers reaches 30-60 cm long.
Stem is round, succulent, watery seafoam green color with marbled burgundy markings.
Leaves are oval-shaped, pointed, reaching 7.6 cm long. Clasp the stem alternately, upper surfaces are hairy with a softly shimmering. Intense violet color on the underside.
Flowers are borne in small clusters at branch ends, subtended by two leafy bracts. Three bright pink or purple-magenta petals, 1.0-1.2 cm long. Petals are fused at the base into a whitish tube 0.5-0.9 cm long. Three rounded spreading lobes, about 0.6 cm long. Three smaller sepals and three stamens bearded with purplish hairs.
Fruit is small, inconspicuous capsule containing seeds.
Flowering: Spring and summer.
